Fellowship’s Strategy for Mobilizing Men and Women in Halftime
A growing number of people are reaching mid-life having achieved some measure of success, but find there is still something missing. They are bright, motivated and experienced. They are proven leaders and practically every church has them.

These so-called “Halftimers” want their lives to really count for something eternal. They may not be financially independent, but they have options about how they invest their time, talent and treasure in the second half of life. Some are retiring early and wonder what to do. Others find their time freed up as children leave home, and still others simply reallocate ten or fifteen hours a week to pursue a ministry endeavor that is meaningful and fulfilling to them. This stage of life has come to be known as Halftime.

Kingdom Builders targets helping men and women in Halftime discover the “good works that God has prepared in advance for them to do.” (Ephesians 2:10.)

Through individual collaboration, small group discipleship, and class offerings, we guide Halftimers on a spiritual journey to discover the Kingdom work God has for them to do.

Our goal is to help Halftimers become Kingdom Builders by helping them answer a stirring inner question, “How does the Lord want me to invest the rest of my life for His glory?”

Last year we helped host a Halftime Summit, started Kingdom Builder groups at four churches, hired Linda Slaton to be Director of Kingdom Builders for Women, trained new leaders and led a workshop at the Church Conference. Bill Wellons, along with Lloyd Reeb, presented a two-hour broadcast on Halftime for churches on the CCN satellite network, spoke to pastors and church leaders at the Southern Baptist Convention, and wrote a book entitled Unlimited Partnership, for publication this fall.
